Keeping on top of students' marks:
During phase one of the teacher job action, parents will not receive a typical report card. It is very important that students, parents and guardians are staying abreast of student’s course standings. This is important at all grade levels, but in particular, please stay focused on senior students who are planning to graduate. Continuing to play an active role in your child’s education is essential.
Here are some steps to keep informed:
1. Ask your student for a paper copy of their progress
2. Ask your student to show you how to access the teacher website with their marks posted
3. Contact the teacher via phone (250) 562-9525
4. Contact the teacher via email – first initial then last name @sd57.bc.ca
5. Arrange a meeting with the classroom teacher (call the school to set up an appointment)
6. Contact your child’s counsellor
